FAQs
A management survey is considered the standard asbestos survey. It is designed to find and evaluate all asbestos containing materials that could be disturbed during the normal use of a property, including minor refurbishment work.
A management survey is a legal requirement for all non-domestic buildings constructed before 2000, and should be carried out upon sale, purchase or occupation of a property if not already present. It is also required by housing associations and councils due to their duty of care towards their tenants and workers. Solicitors and mortgage lenders will often also request a management survey in the house purchase process, and having a survey done is always a good idea in your own home for awareness and safety.
The time taken to complete a management survey varies hugely. Average domestic properties will range from 30 minutes to 3 hours, whereas large scale commercial or industrial surveys can take weeks.
A management survey only targets areas affected by normal use and is therefore minimally disruptive. Our surveyors are trained to work efficiently in live environments meaning the survey can be undertaken in occupied properties. Damage created is limited to sample points of suspicious materials which can usually be rectified with fillers and paints.
Our management surveys start at £185 + VAT, with our transparent, fixed pricing structure available on the website.
Our report will assess and prioritise any asbestos-containing-materials identified within your property. Usually, it is safer and cheaper to manage asbestos in-situ provided it is in good condition and goes undisturbed. Otherwise, encapsulation or removal may be required. Either way, we'll help you right until the end, whether you need management advice or assistance in organising removal work.
