FAQs
An asbestos management plan is a document outlining how all asbestos within a property should be managed on an ongoing basis. It aims to monitor material conditions and general asbestos related processes regularly to prevent exposure to any occupants, and is crucial to comply with your duty-to-manage under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
It is a legal requirement under the Control of Asbestos regulations 2012 that asbestos be managed in any non-domestic property built before 2000. If you are responsible for any non-domestic property, an asbestos management plan is a key first step to compliance.
An asbestos survey is required prior to writing a management plan in order to locate, identify and assess all asbestos present within a property. We are happy to undertake a new survey for you at Fortress as part of a management plan package, or we can create a plan based off an older, third-party report.
The price of a management plan depends on how much of the information the customer can provide. For example, if you need us to undertake a survey of the property first, conduct a reinspection survey to assess any changes in condition, or write up safe systems of work or emergency escape procedures for your own workplace activities, then costs could be higher compared with compiling information mostly provided by the customer in to a compliant report.
