Whenever handling materials that could contain asbestos, it is crucial that you wear a mask with a P3 filter, and disposable coveralls to protect your clothing.

Place your sample in to a sealable, non-porous bag (sandwich bag, ziplock bag etc).

The sample must be double-bagged inside an additional sealable, non-porous bag as an extra layer of security.

Your double bagged sample should be placed in a box or padded envelope along with a slip containing all of your details from your confirmation email.
FAQs
Asbestos testing is the process in which a P402 qualified surveyor attends your property, obtains samples of your desired materials, and they are analysed at a UKAS-accredited laboratory. You will be provided with a written report and certificate of sample analysis outlining the presence of asbestos in the samples.
Asbestos testing is necessary where there are one or two specific items you need testing, but do not require a full survey.
Damage caused by asbestos testing is limited to sample points, and sometimes to the route in which the sample point is accessed (i.e. damaging a timber boxing in order to sample a cement pipe inside). Sample points are always sealed and damage from access repaired wherever possible.
Our asbestos testing starts at £100 + VAT, with our transparent, fixed pricing structure available on the website.
Our report will assess any asbestos-containing-materials (ACMs) identified, and we include recommendations on how to best deal with the material. We're always here to offer advice, even after our report is delivered.
We do advise that all samples are collected by a professional. However, if you are competent and able to send samples directly to us, please see our 'Asbestos Sample Analysis' page.
Our surveyors are all P402 qualified with years of hands on experience and prioritise safety at all times. Wet sampling techniques are used to prevent fibre release, with dust suppression where required. Small sections of materials are cut or prised away, double bagged and labelled, and transported safely to the laboratory for analysis. Sample points are always sealed and the area left safe for occupation.
