FAQs
An asbestos refurbishment survey is a fully intrusive, targeted survey designed to find all asbestos-containing-materials that may be affected by specific refurbishment works.
An asbestos refurbishment survey is a legal requirement before starting any renovation work in any building constructed before 2000, in order to protect workers and occupants and comply with CAR 2012. A management survey is not a replacement for this as they are not intrusive and as such may not have located all asbestos-containing-materials that may be disturbed.
The time taken to complete an asbestos refurbishment survey can vary depending on the size and complexity of the survey. A small targeted refurb survey to one room or area could take as little as 20 minutes, whereas large scale commercial or industrial surveys can take weeks.
An asbestos refurbishment survey is intrusive and somewhat destructive by nature, and therefore usually causes significant damage to the targeted area. When our surveyors are accessing behind certain materials or structures this can also sometimes be relatively loud for short periods. However, the damage is always limited to the targeted areas that are already due to undergo renovation.
Our refurbishment surveys start at £195 + VAT, with our transparent, fixed pricing structure available on the website.
Our report will assess and prioritise any asbestos-containing-materials (ACMs) identified within your property. If any of your planned work would be possible whilst working around any identified ACMs then we will advise you the safest way to do so. If asbestos removal is required then we're happy to organise.
